Give your child the opportunity to jump into the arts at Theo Art School as they take part in activities tailored to meet their inherent curiosity and sense of discovery. The young artists will create beautiful, original pieces using mixed medium applications, while opening the door to further exploration of the arts. Examples of projects include paper mache, weaving, soft sculpture, painting and more.
No art experience necessary!
Explore the diverse world of American Art in this 2-day camp. We will begin with early American art of the Native Americans, then make our way through history to study famous artists such as Grant Wood, Alexander Calder and Andy Warhol. We will finally end with contemporary American artists that live nearby, like Minot-native Walter Piehl. Students will have the opportunity to draw, paint and sculpt using a variety of media. Projects may include masks, landscape paintings, mobiles, printmaking and gesture drawing.

YOUTH ART MONTH
 Youth Art Month is a month of promoting art and art education in the United States. It is observed in March, with thousands of American schools participating, often with the involvement of local art museums and civic organizations.
Observation of Youth Art Month is carried out by Theo Art School, instructors, students, parents, and volunteers!
Activities include:
Display of student art at schools, libraries, and other places throughout the community;
Talks, forums, and discussions on art at Theo;
Partnerships with local newspapers, radio stations, and TV stations to raise the profile of youth art and art education in the community;
Local art competitions, often with winning student art displayed somewhere prominent in the community (e.g. at a local restaurant);
Cross-promotions to raise awareness of other local charities or to beautify the community;
Special events, such as sidewalk chalk displays, ice sculpture carving, and craft workshops.
